You can contact with me through the app, in the messages section. La Paredita, also known as "El Granero," is an ancient Canarian house located in the area that gives it its name. It is situated in the municipality of "El Tanque," a name that has over 400 years of history when the upper part of Garachico, where it is located, used these lands for cultivation and also built a reservoir to supply water to the municipality. It wasn't until 1641 when it was declared an independent municipality and its first town hall was established. "La Paredita" sits on the edge of a steep slope, almost a cliff, embracing the municipality of "El Tanque" and framing the majesty of Mount Teide, which can be observed from any point of the property. A beautiful and unique sight that is a privilege granted by such an incredible location. Due to the elevation of the terrain, we can observe a kind of valley from its gardens. In the background, we find the municipality of "El Tanque," and from there, we can lose ourselves in the immensity of the pine forest covering the slopes of Teide and then observe the summit and the old peak: the highest point of the Iberian Peninsula. This ancient house had a cistern, commonly used when there was no running water, a hayloft, renovated tiled roofs that respect traditional Canarian architecture, as well as wooden floors in most of the rooms. We do not have exact records of when it was built, but the antiquity of the main walls suggests that the first settlement took place around 1840. It is located in a protected natural area, being the only dwelling in the area. Just 100 meters away is the Lomo Molino viewpoint. The commercial area of El Tanque is located 200 meters away, where there are all kinds of shops and services. Highly recommended is the pizzeria "La Albahaca," which is open from Friday to Sunday. We also recommend the restaurant 'El Mortero' located at the Lomo Molino viewpoint, offering stunning views along with a culinary selection that elevates traditional Canarian cuisine with a modern twist.
